Catherine Douglas

I qualified from Leeds Metropolitan University with an Honours Degree (BSc Hons.) in Clinical Language Sciences (Speech and Language Therapy) in July 2000.

I am a full member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) and the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Private Practice, who define the professional standards I follow.

I am a highly experienced Speech and Language Therapist who has worked with children aged 0-18 years in both the public and private sectors. I have provided assessment and therapy to children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties, including:
• Specific Language Impairment
• Receptive language delay and disorder
• Expressive language delay and disorder
• Autistic Spectrum Disorder
• Phonology and Articulation delay and disorder
• Dysfluency / Stammering
• Selective Mute
• Attention, listening and behaviour difficulties
• Down Syndrome
• Mild, moderate and profound and complex special educational needs.

I enjoy working with families and other professionals (including HSE SLT’s) in order to support the needs of the child. I consider this to be an essential part of the therapy plans I offer. I believe in early intervention and I believe in allowing all children to reach their potential.
